Good concept having warm humidifier in the bedroom. We thought we would upgrade our vick's steam vapor one the cheap one which puts out lots of steam and crazy easy to clean compared to these types of units where the water flows over the heating element. On this unit the water tank has only 2 and half turns of thread count and the lid pops off easily. You can even pull it off with out any effort with your hand. This creates lots of water spills and fills the unit full of water even though its not designed for that. We live near Denver Co. the tank lasts a day. But yellow mold or bacteria can be seen forming every other day. I think this is true with any unit where the water tanks are inverted and the water stands over the heating element. We are going back to the Vicks simple style that some how sucks up the water. Or perhaps the humidifiers with a an absorbing wick much like an evaporative air cooler. These put out hardly any bacteria and harmful chemicals in the air. Although as it evaporates it does put out cooler air so we also bought a radiator oil filled electric heater and that does the trick to keep room balanced. I have tried to reach out to the online company and they deny selling it to me so I will let amazon argue out the details. But poor design, wouldn't be bad if they gave the water tank lid threads more threads so it stays on. Design flaw. But has nice slow steam which we liked. The ultra sonic units put the water in an aerosol form and you breath in all the metals in the water which is not good for the lungs. So steam or wick kind are the healthiest.
