Purchased one of these using as a wash down / livewell pump via control deverter. Burned up in just over a year. However I must say great customer service, got it replaced no problems. This doesn't work very well as a live well pump. The manual says 15 minute run time Max.... Sometimes you forget. My last pump lasted many years doing nothing different. Also the top of the pressure switch housing where the wires go in is not sealed. I had substantial corrosion in a relatively short amount of time. I'll silicone the cover of the pressure switch and add a timer control switch on the new install. As well as an inline fuse at the pump. Watch the runtime and keep that filter clean. We own a 22 year old 35' diesel command bridge cruiser. Well equipped with GPS radar VHF radios a fully equipped galley, diesel engines & furnace. Alas the Jabsco auto pressure fresh water pump failed, only 4 yrs old. We were told these pumps were not worth repairing & no service parts were available. Even called the factory who told the same story. A new Jabsco pump was over $250 plus 12% tax at the local marinas. Advise given was FloJet pumps were more reliable (turns out they are made by Jabsco and look very similar) We decided to shop Amazon and bought this item being reviewed. It was easy to install as it fitted where the old pump was and all the plumbing fittings were compatible. The price was right and if it doesn't last any longer than the Jabsco the pain of buying another new one won't be as bad. The pump works well so far.First unit lasted about 6 years of heavy use on my ocean boat washing blood and scales off floor, cleaning and rinsing fish and is also plumed into my live well. I also bought another and connected it to a 14 gallon tank in the back of my pickup and put saltaway to use on my trailer after launching. Its also used to spray weed killer along fences and pesticides around the property.pump was used as a replacement part and worked perfect. The pricing was better than anywhere else on the internet!Poorly put together unit. The rear cover of the motor had the Oring exposed so you know what that means as far as a waterproof unit goes. My replacement pump had better pressure and unit pressure switch does not work!! I will have to disassemble to see why!So far it works as it should and went right in to the mount holes of the old pump. Its just as noisy and draws as many amps as the old pump.Replaced same model after it quit after 15+ years of use. New one working fine.
