6 Inch Deck Hatch with Cat Bag - Waterproof Kayak Access Hatch for Fishing, Boat Storage & Marine Rigging | Perfect for Kayak Fishing Gear Organization & Boat Deck Storage

I bought this to add to my Emotion Renegade XT Fishing Kayak. I'm new to kayaking, so after many youtube videos, I decided to add a few "necessities", a.k.a. tweaks, to my new kayak. This is a great tweak/addition. The hatch does not come with instructions or a template, however, installation was not very difficult.1. use the gasket seal that comes with the hatch, as the template for the hole you need to cut (Pic 1)2. I used a Sharpie marker to draw the circle on the inside of the gasket (Pic 2)3. cut the hole for the hatch (Pic 3)4. place the hatch in the hole, align it, then use the Sharpie to mark the 8 screw holes to be drilled5. use a drill bit that is smaller than the screws that come with the hatch, then drill each hole6. I put a layer of Goop sealant around where the gasket seal was sitting, then put the gasket in place7. place the hatch over the hole, aligning the screw holes, and drive in each screw (do not over tighten) (Pics 4 and 5)This is large enough to store keys, camera, phone, and a few other items. I recommend using a waterproof bag, though. The nylon bag is nice, but the waterproof bag will give that extra security in the event the yak rolls or water gets in. All in all, I'm very happy with this hatch.
